A life-changing story of a positive attitude

A famous Chinese shoemaker took the decision to expand his business by opening a new branch in the neighboring country. Excited by the idea he called up one of his marketing managers and asked him to take the flight to the country and explore the possibility of launching a new branch there.

The young executive visited the country the very next day. However, within 24 hours of getting there, he called up his boss. He disappointedly said this place is not suitable for our business. People do not wear shoes out there. We had better change our mind about setting up a new shoe factory here. It simply would not do.

The report made the boss shocked and highly dissatisfied. His dedication and willpower to expand his business urged him to send in another manager for the same purpose. So he called up another newly employed marketing manager and sent him with the same orders.

Within a few hours of landing there, the young manager called up his boss with great excitement. This place is wonderful and unbelievable, he exclaimed with joy. Our business is going to skyrocket here. These people have no idea what the shoes look like. When we introduce the shoes here, we shall have a big opportunity to set up a new, untapped shoe market.
